Small Business Certification & Funding Program

In 2018, our focus is to help more entrepreneurs through innovative and collaborative relationships with key influencers, i.e., churches, chambers, business organizations/associations, etc. through the Small Business Certification & Funding Program (SBCFP) that addresses two significant needs:

  1. Access to knowledge and capital for entrepreneurs in your community.
  2. A new revenue stream for your organization/entity plus a "draw" to attract more small businesses to join.

ACCESS TO KNOWLEDGE

As a member of the Money Smart for Small Business Initiative, founded by the Federal Deposit Insurance Company (FDIC) and promoted by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA), BCLI offers two primary types of education that is included in the SBCFP:

  1. One hour webinars on a variety of practical topics using the award-winning curriculum to start and grow a business.
  2. A one-day, in-person class which provides a valuable collection of topics that every entrepreneur needs to be educated on to establish or operate a small business or entrepreneurial enterprise.

ACCESS TO CAPITAL

All participants in the SBCFP are eligible to enroll in BCLI's business credit building program to access a minimum of $100,000 of business credit and funding to start or grow a business.  Click here for more information on business credit building.

NEW REVENUE STREAM TO YOUR ORGANIZATION

Our grant-funded program provides two direct revenue streams for your organization as the "host" of the SBCFP.

  1. $62.50 donation to your organization for each SBCFP participant
  2. 1 point of the $100,000 capital raise of each participant

With a typical audience of fifty (50) attendees, your organization can anticipate earning over $3,000 up front and an additional $50,000 by hosting each one day SBCFP class all while helping your membership/congregation and community members seeking assistance in starting or growing a business.

KEY REASONS WHY YOUR ORGANIZATION SHOULD STRONGLY CONSIDER COLLABORATING

  1. No cost to collaborate.
  2. A significant new revenue stream to your organization.
  3. Addresses a key issue of entrepreneurs--access to capital--in a proven, legitimate, and predictable methodology that is poorly understood and underutilized.
  4. Turn-key program for educational content.
  5. Great PR for your organization creating increased awareness in your community.
  6. Highly qualified instructors.

BOTTOM LINE

This proposed collaborative relationship is a powerful economic development tool for your community resulting in the injection of millions of dollars into small businesses, the creation of jobs, the expansion of the local tax base, and overall community stabilization.
